My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ralphina, who came from a hoarding situation along with many other cats, is one of the last to find a home.
She has really come out of her shell and is enjoying her time with the other cats especially Beetle, she is coming up for pets now and is really becoming the love bug we knew she was, come in and meet Ralphina today, and give her the home she truly deserves.

More about this shelter

At the Humane Society of Port Jervis/Deerpark we are passionate about ensuring the protection and welfare of all animals in need. This is the legacy of our founder Robert Kleinstuber, who began the shelter in 1959 as a memorial to his beloved dog, Jeff.

Our mission is to protect and serve animals during their greatest time of need, assist our community pets and their people, and offer homeless pets a second chance at a first-rate life. By providing humane education along with free or low-cost resources, we hope to reduce the homeless pet population in our area.

We currently provide animal control impound services for 12 municipalities in Orange & Sullivan Counties and are proud to provide low-cost spay/neuter clinics, adoption and re-homing services, humane education, and community assistance to the tri-state area.
