My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Buttercup was dropped in my neighborhood a couple of months ago. That morning a neighbor saw her chasing a truck like her life depended on it. Later that afternoon someone reported seeing her in my alley. When I drove through the alley I spotted her looking forlorn and patiently waiting for someone to rescue her. With a little encouragement she jumped in my car and has been with me since. According to the Vet, she is 5 or 6 years old. Buttercup gets along well with my other two dogs. When the three are together, she does get rowdy competing for attention. She seems curious about my cat, but does not seem to be aggressive. When I use a harness, she is easy to walk on a leash. She's a sweet, calm dog that loves to lay on the sofa and usually starts snoring while watching tv. She will be totally content to just relax next to you wherever you are. If you are looking for a lovebug, you need to meet Buttercup!

Buttercup is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.

Additional adoption info

Adopting from The Love Pit means gaining a family member. It means gaining a network of pit bull advocates, ready to support you and provide you with all of the resources we can. Most importantly, adopting from The Love Pit saves lives. When you adopt, you're saving the life of your own dog, opening space in their foster home for another shelter dog in need, and creating space in the shelter kennel for a dog whose life would have otherwise been on the line. Your thanks for all the good you've done? Lots of love and pit bull kisses to enjoy for years to come.

Go meet their pets

We have monthly adoption events at different locations in Dallas and Fort Worth which are announced on our social media pages and will also be posted on our website.

We will also set up an appointment with you to meet the dog of your choosing.
