My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Birdie is a dog with an incredible story. After her first owner passed away, she was left completely alone without food for over a week until rescued. Somehow, she managed to survive this ordeal and still retain her sweetness despite carrying some emotional scars from her traumatic experience.

We volunteered to foster her and immediately fell in love. Within days we told the rescue we would like to adopt, but as she settled in it became clear that her our house was not an ideal set up for her (understandably) strong separation anxiety. Our work takes us out of the home for large periods of the day and she has begun to harm herself in an effort to escape her crate. We feel it’s in her best interest to find a home with experienced owners who have the time and resources to help ease her anxiety.

She is a SWEETHEART who is well socialized, is sweet with other dogs, and great with our two cats. She shows great bite inhibition and has zero reactivity with people or other animals.
