- Recently went on a Dog's Day Out field trip and had a great time with his human companions: "When we first got him, he pulled hard on the leash but once we had him out on his walk, he became much more chill. He was curious and sniffed a lot and just happily walked with us. Considering we don't own a dog, I thought he was responsive and we could manage him well. Occasionally bikes would pass us and he was interested but he didn't really chase them or bark. We had our teenager and our 8-year-old with us and he seemed to do well with both of them. In the car he wanted to put his front paws or torso on the center console between the driver and passenger. He would even rest his head in the crook of my elbow. He enjoyed lots of pets and attention."

- Loves playing with soccer and tennis balls; will take tennis balls out of a bucket all on his own!

- Tends to be a linebacker-type player with other dogs, which some dogs may not appreciate; will likely do best with a select group of rough-and-tumble dog friends with a similar play style (dog intro recommended)

- Needs a home with no cats

The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
