Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Hi, my name is Cheesy. No idea how I got the name. What do you get when you cross a dog with a calculator? A best friend you can count on! Too Cheesy?? Wait, I have another one for you! Why do dogs float? Because they`re good buoys! Ha! Get it, good boy. Besides being very funny (and a bit cheesy) I`m actually a good boy!! And this good buoy is looking for his forever home, maybe learn some more dad jokes and be your bestest best friend! Stop by SafeHaven today and I can tell you more jokes! So a priest and a dog walk into a bar.....
10/22/24 Update: Today Cheesy went on a Doggy Day Out Adventure. He was a little nervous leaving the shelter so they decided to watch a movie at home and just let him adjust to being in a home environment. Cheesy was scared and hid under the table for about an hour, but then he gained some confidence and started playing with toys and exploring the house!

More about this shelter
For over 40 years, SafeHaven Humane Society has worked to help our communities’ residents be the best humane beings they can be by providing compassionate temporary shelter care; healthy adoptable animals; information, understanding and education; and population control through spay and neuter programs, instead of euthanasia.
Mission
Finding Homes…Opening Hearts….Educating Minds to strengthen and improve the lives of animals and people.
Vision
We envision a community where every adoptable, treatable companion animal has a loving home and where every loving home has the opportunity to care for a companion animal.
Values
We are guided by the belief that no adoptable or treatable companion animal should be unnecessarily euthanized due to space, time, appearance or treatable conditions.
We are committed to:
* Giving a new chance to companion animals who would otherwise be discarded.
* Strengthening the humane animal bond through education.
* Helping people and their companion animals stay together through the support of programs and services.
* Leading responsibly with compassion.
