Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello, I am a single athletic male, seeking my forever mate. My name is Sir Duke (of Peoria), my foster Mom gave me this name, you may call me Duke for short.
Sometimes I can be very silly, other times, I rise to the occasion and will be serious. I have a hidden talent, I love to do a head tilt, giving the most adorable photos (ever!).
Ya know what the best thing is? Rolling on the ground, waving my paws in the air, wanna join me?
I am of royal descent; my lineage is that of courage, strength, intelligence, loyalty, security, and a keen sense of smell.
If you ask me, I am related to Rin Tin and Strongheart, my foster Mom rolls her eyes when I share this.
I am seeking a lifetime partner or family, you must be a leader, after all, I am, which is exactly why I need a leader who will not put up with my shenanigans occasionally.
My hobbies are and are not limited to hiking, playing fetch, seeking out new adventures (or scents), jogging, road trips (I love car rides!), striking a pose (my foster Mom taught me how to work the camera!), and more.
Get this, my forever mate will receive a $500 professional photoshoot if you live in Phoenix, AZ. Yeah, I have it like that, I know all the important people with perks.
I am a gentleman, you tell me to wait, I will, or tell me that I must sit and wait for my meal, I do.
I learned very quickly to let you go through the door first and I follow. I will walk right by you when we are out, I had to learn to trust and not pull ahead.
Oh yeah, I like my crate to be clean, all biz takes place outside.
My foster Mom tells everyone that I am wicked intelligent, a rapid learner, and I am eager to please. Did she not hear me that I come from royal descent? Of course, I am!
Oh yeah! Get this! I passed training camp. I know Sit, Down, and Place. I walk very nicely on the leash now too!
See, I am an only "child" (dog) and never did grasp the concept of "play nicely with other children"(dogs), so, I have entered therapy to learn to play nicely. As my foster Mom says, I am a work in progress.
I am trying hard, know that. Whew! Now that I got that off my paws...
So, whacha say? Wanna meet for coffee? Maybe this will lead to lunch, then dinner and breakfast for a lifetime. Follow me on Facebook, my foster Mom has tons of photos and videos of me: https://www.facebook.com/groups/446085678131242
I can't wait to meet you,
Sir Duke
From Foster Mom
Sir Duke is a highly intelligent, eager-to-please, neutered German Shepherd male. He is 3 years of age, DOB 4-12-21, and weighs approximately 80 pounds.
He is up to date with his vaccines.
He is active; loves to hike, play fetch, and car rides, and does rest nicely in his crate. If you put a water bucket down and give him a Chuck-It ball, he will play dunk and retrieve with it. Ha!
He doesn't display any recourse guarding with toys or food.
He knows and responds very well to basic commands; every day, have him perform one or two as this will help show him your leadership.
Before training, I was able to get him to stop pulling on the leash, he learned quickly that when he walked by me vs pulling out in front of me, it was so much more comfortable and fun.
He can be reserved when meeting new people, due to being abandoned, he needs to relearn trust, just go slow and he will be fine.
When he is out walking, and sees other dogs, he has learned to ignore them; just stay on top of this, again showing your leadership.
To his future family, his adoption will come with a free $500 professional photoshoot (must reside within the PHX area), and a lifetime of free consultations from Farley's Green Paw Consulting (should the need ever arise).

Their adoption process
1.
Interview
We find out what the adopter is looking for in a pet and learn more about their household such as other pets, family members, lifestyle.
2.
Meet the Pet
We then show photos and descriptions of the pets to potential adopters and arrange a meet and greet.
3.
Submit Application
4.
Approve Application
5.
Home Check
In this home check we collect the adoption fee and bring the pet to them also finalizing the transaction. We then switch chip info to adopt
Additional adoption info
We generally stay as guardian on the microchip info and change the primary contact to the adopter. They then have their own log in to keep things current, but we are there as a backup always.

More about this rescue
We are a new, small scale rescue. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit and are only volunteers. We began to see the huge numbers of dogs being abandoned and euthanized after our own husky was stolen during a break in to our home. We had to get more involved as it was a lifelong dream to be able to rescue animals. We have self funded the organization since the beginning, but really need donations as we have taken in some medical needs dogs that were due to be put down for manageable / treatable conditions. Our goal is to be able to match adopters with emotional support dogs, therapy dogs, or trainable service dogs, or just to complete a family by adding a furbaby. We ensure our dogs are UTD on shots, spay/neutered, chipped and trained in basic obedience. This ensures a greater chance of finding that forever home!
