Mr. Pickles was surrendered to the shelter when his person could no longer keep him. He lived in that home for his entire young life and reportedly did well with kids and other smaller dogs. He was also housebroken, crate trained, and well- behaved when left alone. Mr. Pickles’ former person described him as affectionate, loving, loyal and playful and said that he loves hiking, toys, and being near his humans.
Mr. Pickles spent several weeks in a foster home- here’s what is foster said:
`I fostered Mr. Pickles in my home for 3 weeks. In that time, he opened up so much and blossomed into a loving, cuddly boy who loves to play. He absolutely loves balls, loves to play fetch, and loves to have a doggy friend to play with. I also took him to Mount Lemmon and discovered what a wonderful hiker he is.`
While in foster Mr., Pickles did great with other dogs his size, was again housebroken, and loved playing fetch and chewing on bones.
“Once you’ve gained his trust he’s a very friendly, playful and cuddly guy. He needs someone who will go slow with him and let him gain trust. It took about 4 days in my home before he started approaching me and allowing small interactions. Once I had his trust though, he really opened up and became such a playful loving dog. He needs help learning strangers aren’t scary!”
Here`s what one volunteer at the shelter said:
“Today was my first time meeting Mr. Pickles. He was easy to leash and walked nicely, mostly loose leash, and did his business as we explored the park. He showed me his perfect sit and took treats nicely from my hand. Very sweet boy!”
Mr. Pickles shares his kennel with another PACC pup and would like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it’s a good fit. Ask to meet Mr. Pickles today!
