My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Abby *loves* other dogs and would thrive with a younger dog or a puppy that needs a playmate to burn off some energy. She’s the perfect second dog and is fully house-trained. She’s still very shy around humans—she doesn’t jump on people or furniture and is incredibly low-key in the house. Abby does have a habit of chewing when left alone, but she’s made great progress with kennel training. She now goes into her kennel willingly, especially when it’s stocked with chew toys and bones.

Her true personality shines in the backyard. Her tail goes up, she runs around, plays with sticks, and never barks. She’s so quiet and gentle. Abby is completely non-aggressive, to the point where you marvel at her patience. Even when she’s scared, she never growls or nips—she just curls up into what her foster calls a `shaky potato.` She’s already made progress with people, though it’s slow and steady. She’s stopped shaking, started coming out to have her leash put on for walks, and her body language has softened—her eyes are less scared, and her ears are more relaxed.

Abby would be perfect for someone with an active, confident dog who needs a playful companion. She’s young and energetic with dogs but doesn’t add extra responsibility to her human. Her shy nature with people means she takes time to trust, but every little breakthrough with Abby is so rewarding.
