My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Andalou was found as a stray in Acton Vale before being brought to the Animal Rescue Network in April 2024. A kind person had taken the time to feed and coax him for several months before she was able to catch him and have him neutered. She subsequently realized that Andalou was sociable and therefore had the potential to live with a good family. Andalou didn't take too long to adapt to the shelter. He's a very gentle, affectionate cat. He has a lot of energy because he's still young! He sometimes shows us his beautiful belly as if he wants to be petted, but it's mostly to let us know that he wants to play and get into mischief! Andalou can be handled, but it's not yet his favourite activity. He could live with children and another cat if the space allows it and the other cat is very sociable. Otherwise, he would be better off being adopted as a solo cat. Andalou has developed food allergies and therefore eats a hypoallergenic diet. Who will be lucky enough to take in this beautiful black cat? Andalou is an adult cat therefore the adoption fees for him are $290. He is sterilized, vaccinated, microchipped and negative for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) and feline leukemia (FeLV). You will also be provided with health insurances for the first 6 weeks following adoption. You will also have access to the support of the adoption team for as long as you need it. You will also have access to a free 30 minutes video consultation within thr first month following adoption with our cat behaviour consultant FelineGood ( https://www.felinegood.ca ).

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All new adoption homes are carefully screened to determine if they are suitable. There is an adoption fee that includes the sterilization, initial vaccination of every animal, testing for FIV and FeLV of all cats at the shelter, and a 21 days trial period. A contract is always signed between the ARN and the adopter for their protection. A follow-up by an ARN adoption coordinator is often done either by telephone or by visit, and we also offer help/cousel for the life of the cat.
