My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bowie!

Are you ready for an adventure? Bowie, aka Davina "Bowie" Cooper (DB Cooper), is a 3-month-old medium-haired brown tabby with a charming white chest and cute white toes. She earned her nickname because she's an escape artist, always the first to explore and jump into new adventures fearlessly.

Bowie is a total love bug who adores being held and playing with her toys. She's great with people of all ages and gets along wonderfully with dogs. Bowie was the smallest in her litter, but don't let her size fool you-she's full of energy and loves car rides!

Bowie would thrive best in a home with other kittens or a small dog, as she's very attached to her siblings. If you're looking for a playful, fearless companion, Bowie is the perfect match for you!

Adopt Bowie today and add a little adventure to your life!

Go meet their pets

We do not have a storefront location, but you can see some of our our cats and kittens at two PETCO stores. Happy Jack Cats, Inc. is a partner with the PETCO Foundation and can offer our cats/kittens for adoption in two local PETCO stores. See our cats/kittens at 3548 S Findley Ave, Boise, ID. or 3006 E. Since our pets are in foster homes all over the area, we show them by-appointment only. Check out our Facebook Page, facebook.com/happyjackcatsinc, or our Website, happyjackcats.org to identify the kitten you are interested in and then call or message us. Also, we advertise on Craigslist.

Thanks to all of our wonderful adoptive families, our volunteers and our foster families without who's help we could not exist.

More about this rescue

Happy Jack Cats, Inc., is a Idaho Non-Profit Corporation. We are a foster-based, feline, no-kill rescue and adoption group. Our kittens and cats are in foster homes throughout the Boise and Meridian areas, we have no store-front location. We always need donations, fosters parents, and volunteers.

Happy Jack Cats, Inc., (HJC) was founded in November 2015 by individuals concerned for the welfare of "throwaway" kittens and cats in the Boise and Meridian areas of Idaho. We have a Board of Directors consisting of three members. HJCI has no paid employees, but has a strong foster program made up of skilled volunteers in homes through-out the area. To date, all funding for HJCI is out-of-pocket or has come from donations, grants and re-homing fees.

One of our group had been working to save the lives of kittens for about four years before we incorporated, but as it became known in the community that she was very good at re-homing kittens, she was flooded with animals; orphaned, abandoned, lost, abused and otherwise unwanted. It was at this point, that she realized that there was a huge need.

Because of this, she decided to create a nonprofit organization to fill the void, recruited two like-minded people to form the board, and Happy Jack Cats, Inc. came into being.

HJC saves kittens from euthanasia that are too young to be adopted or have treatable conditions that would prevent them from being adopted. We take in kittens younger than twelve weeks of age, including bottle babies. At times we receive adult cats, particularly kitten mammas in need of spaying.

Even though our rescued animals often come from terrible circumstances, once bathed, wormed, spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, and vaccinated are beautiful, loving and very much in demand. Our goal is to place kittens and cats with families that will love and care for them for their lifespans.

Happy Jack Cats, Inc., is an exempt organization as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, EIN #47-5455805.
