My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jack is a 9 yr old 30 pound Bichon X whose owners were unable to care for him.  He was a quiet boy when he first arrived in foster care, but as trust has been established, his friendly personality has really started to shine through.  He loves to play tug-o-war with his foster mum, and eagerly performs tricks like sitting up and waving with his front paws. Jack is a connoisseur of belly rubs, and back and chin scratches, and will climb into a lap to enjoy them every chance he gets!

Jack is eating a mixture of kibble and wet food and loves to gobble it up the minute it is put down.  Other delicacies he enjoys snacking on are strawberries, cucumbers, and peppers; he is not fussy and loves to eat.

Jack requires reassurance at times when he doesn't understand what is happening, and will signal his confusion with a low growl. He is not a fan of being picked up, but letting him know to be gentle and reassuring him that things are okay in a calm voice helps him he is safe when he isn't sure.

Jack loves the great outdoors and exploring the backyard and going for walks, and would thoroughly enjoy it if his new family included these in his everyday routine.  He is quite a charmer when he meets new people and other dogs that visit, but has not been tested with cats.

This handsome fellow would do best in a home without small children as they aren't predictable and Jack likes to know what is going on around him.  Before he came to the rescue, he had a benign mass removed from his back and he has now been fully vetted and is in great shape for his age.  He is a quiet and happy guy, and has so much love to give to a family that is lucky enough to adopt him!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our process begins with an online pre adoption questionnaire followed by a telephone interview
Once both have been completed we consider suitability and if we feel the adoption candidate is a potential match we arrange a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in
From there we schedule a home visit and check personal and veterinary references.

Go meet their pets

All our dogs are in foster homes so meet and greets are by appointment only

Foster Homes
Sadly, each new day brings a flood of emails and telephone pleas to help yet another abandoned dear dog. We try and help these displaced dogs through our rescue efforts and networking. We are always in search of new foster homes where a dog can be cared for and loved until a permanent home is found. Speaking of Dogs Rescue covers food, medical attention and all the supplies required for the dogs in foster care. Foster parents need be responsible and patient people who will provide a safe environment for our dogs. A foster contract must be signed. This is a serious responsibility; however the experience is very rewarding. If you can open your heart and home to a foster dog please contact us. We have a comprehensive Foster Manual available for people who are considering becoming a foster parent.
