Dog Name: Ion
Breed: Mixed- Austalian Cattle Dog/Corgi
Sex: Male
Age: 4 months
Weight: 15 pounds
Medical Needs: None. Ion has received treatment for the few bald spots on his face caused by demodectic mange. You'll see these in the photos- above his right eye and on the left side of his face. Don't worry, it's not contagious and doesn't seem to bother Ion much either...
Housebroken: Although he is still young and it's hard to firmly say Yes, Ion has never had an accident with us. He doesn't have a tell that he needs to go out but we go out often and he immediately takes care of business.
Crate trained: Yes, He sleeps in his crate all night without a peep.
Good in the car: Yes, he sits in his little seat or right next to it.
Good on a leash: Yes, he can get under foot though since he's a very curious puppy and enjoys sniffing and seeing the world with his nose.
Energy level: Medium. He plays but he also snoozes pretty well too. He will fetch the ball and LOVES chewing on bones.
Need a fenced in yard: No but he has enjoyed running in our fenced yard. It makes it easier to play fetch which he loves!
Dog Friendly: Yes, he's a puppy and came in with his brother.
If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive home? No.
Cat Friendly: Unsure. He has seen rabbits on our walks and seems unphased by them... I think he's young enough to get along with anyone/anything
Kid Friendly: The children in his foster’s home are older but he has always been Friendly with everyone.
If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? Any age with proper supervision. He's still a small, fragile puppy that could get into things if left unattended.
Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them?
Ion came to GRR all the way from Texas. He's been such a sweet, sweet boy and a smarty pants too. I believe he's already house-trained, crate-trained knows how to fetch and will sit for a treat. He calmly sits and let's you leash him BUT he can scale a baby gate quicker than you can turn around! He likes to be with you and where the action is happening. He will settle in his crate just fine but don't think a playyard is holding this fella. His demodex may have him sporting a couple bald spots for a few months but he's still such a handsome fella.
