Meet our two latest VIP rescues, Billi Jo and Bobbi Jo, a very bonded set of pups that will need to be adopted together. This darling pair are spunky active little girls! Billi Jo is 1.5-year-old 8 lb. ShihTzu mix, while Bobbi Jo is 1.5-year-old 7.5 lb. Japanese Chi mix. They are thought to be sisters bred from their Mother Betti Jo who we also have available for adoption! They always play together, sit together, sleep together, eat together, cuddle together, well, you get the idea! Billi Jo, Bobbi Jo, and Mom Betti Jo were all rescued from a dog hoarder / breeder and we are working on their socialization skills. They have not had the best start in life. When this threesome arrived at VIP Rescue, they were so severely matted and likely had never been groomed in their life! They were fearful of humans, and their foster Mom has been extremely patient giving them their space and time they need to adjust to humans. They are curious pups, and like playing with the other pups in the foster home. We are working hard on human touch and cuddles. When they finally get tired (and they do!) their second favorite thing to do is pile up and snooze and snore together! These girls are diligently working on house training, and they do use pee pads most of the time. Together they love to romp around the fenced back yard and likely had never done that before either. It’s clear they have never lived in a home, lived with humans, or been loved on. Getting them out frequently has proven to be essential to help them with their house training and social skills. Their future home must absolutely be committed to continue with their training, teaching house manners, and house rules. Yes, they are so stinking adorable, but it’s going to take dedication and commitment from the right family. It will be so rewarding! Due to their energy level, it’s best they go into a calm environment where patience and experience is first and foremost. An adult only home is preferred. They are slowly learning about a collar and harness. We are trying to advanced them to leash walks, and this is still very new and scary to them. A single-family home with a secure fenced in yard is a must for them, sorry, no exceptions. (We have other pups available for adoption that might be better suited for your home if this isn’t the one.) They have found their voices, and they do bark when they are startled. Dog parks are not a substitute for a secure fenced yard attached to a single-family home. Both pups are spayed, a fresh dental, microchipped, current on vaccines and are on heartworm and flea prevention. If you think these girls might be for you and you can meet all their needs, please visit www.viprescue.org to fill out an adoption application. Adoption Requirements: You must be a Florida resident and be at least 25 years of age to adopt. To qualify for adoption, all of the pets in your home must be spayed or neutered, be current on all vaccines, preventatives, and have received consistent veterinary care. If you’ve had more than one Vet in the past 3 years, please provide all the names and number for each vet. This breed typically lives 15-18 years, so please keep that lifespan in mind, as your age should be appropriate for the pet’s estimated lifespan. All of us at VIP Rescue are Volunteers, with families, jobs and pets of our own, so please be kind and patient. We select the most fitting application for the dog, not necessarily the timeliest adoption application. Please make sure to read the entire bio on the pet you’re interested in before applying to adopt to make sure you meet the pets needs. Thank you for thinking rescue.
