Kate is a 2ish year old Chihuahua mix (maybe some min pin or rat terrier in there) who loves to be with her people. She would do best with another dog in the home to help her with confidence, and will need a dedicated adopter to continue work on leash training. If there is a fenced yard in the home it will need to be very secure and not have gaps in it, as she's a small and fast lady. We haven't seen her with cats, but would be happy to meet them in any potential adopter's home as well. She would love someone who's home a bit more often but she's done well with kennel training in her foster home so far. Kate's adoption fee is $250 and she's fully vetted - apply at www.foreverhomedogs.org to meet her!All adoptions are $300 per dog for puppies under 1 year, $250 for adults 1 - 9 years old and $150 for senior dogs which include spay/neuter, micro-chipped and up-to-date on required shots.
Senior dogs, at our discretion, are adopted out at $150 per dog because we know they will have less time with your family and may eventually have more needs as they get older. But we feel these dogs deserve to live out the rest of their lives as part of a loving family.

Forever Home Dog Rescue is dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned animals primarily from high-kill shelters.
In working with committed volunteers, temporary care homes and local veterinarians, we are able to rescue dogs, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them well-matched, carefully screened forever homes. All our rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and have all necessary veterinary care.
We were formed in January 2014 and are a non-profit organization in central Iowa. We are pending our official 501c3 status. We receive no government funding and rely completely on donations.
