My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jetty Bones, your potential new wiggly and playful companion! This happy-go-lucky girl is a master at showering everyone she meets with love and affection. Jetty Bones loves running around, meeting new people, and playing with her furry friends! Jetty Bones is heartworm positive, but luckily FAMD provides the cost for her treatment. All you need to do is take her to her appointments and provide a calm and quiet environment after her treatments. To give this sweet girl her furever home, stop by to visit her in person-- no appointment needed!

For current adoption fees, please see our website, www.metrodetroitanimals.org. Adoption fee includes: age-appropriate vaccinations, spay or neuter, microchip, ID tag, fecal / worming, basic physical and behavior assessment. Dogs (6 months and older) receive an occult heartworm test. For an additional $20, cats (12 weeks and older) can be tested for FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) / FLV (feline leukemia).

More about this shelter

Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit (FAMD) brings a little more love into the world by celebrating the special bond between an animal and their “person.” At FAMD, we don’t just rescue dogs and cats, we make life-changing connections with the people who adopt them.

We bring our passion and animals into the community with events that help bring together dogs and cats with loving people. And our outreach programs help promote education and animal welfare legislation locally, so that fewer animals have to spend another minute waiting for their forever home.

FAMD’s new state-of-the-art Animal Adoption and Education Center at 16121 Reckinger Road in Dearborn offers animals comfortable housing and medical support. It’s where our staff and volunteers work every day to make Metro Detroit a happier, more loving place for both two-legged and four-legged creatures alike.
