My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hola amigos!! My name is Lupi and you can read more about me here:

PHYSICAL INFO:

  • Breed: Lab/Staffy(?) mix (just a guess!)

  • Age: 11 months approx.

  • Gender: Female

  • Weight: 36lbs (16kg)

  • Current Location: Baja Mexico

RESCUE STORY - My mumma, my sibs and I thought that we had a furever family until one day when we were thrown outside of the house and never let back in! This was scary times for us as we were very small and vulnerable. Thankfully we were soon scooped up by a kind rescue group and taken to a shelter where I've grown into the awesome, gentle and loving pooch that I am today! I don't hold any grudges against my previous hoomans either as I'm a real cuddle bug who loves to show my affection.

TEMPERAMENT - Three words my rescuers use to describe me: Curious, energetic and adventurous! Yep, I'm a zesty and fun-loving gal who would made a wonderful adventure companion. I enjoy games of fetch (check out my video!) as well as cuddling up next to hoomans and my brother Loreto. I'm a very adaptable pooch and as long as I have some space and time to get my energy out, I could settle into most living situations. Also, I'm a simple doggo - toys and cuddles are the way to my heart!

ENERGY LEVEL - Moderate

GETS ALONG WITH:

  • Kids – Unknown but testing can be requested.

  • Dogs – Yep!! I get along just fine with other dogs.

  • Cats – Unknown (I seem scared of cats as you can see in my video but further testing can be requested)

PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around cats/squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.

TRAINING:

  • Leash skills – These are a work in progress! My adopter must be willing to provide me with some training and patience :)

  • House trained – This is a work in progress and may need some additional training and patience.

  • Crate trained – This is a work in progress and may need some additional training and patience.

  • Car rides – This is a work in progress and may need some additional training and patience.

Please Note: WCP Dog Rescue partners with Unleashed Dog Training (Hannah Swain, Balanced Dog Trainer) to offer adopters 50% off one training session (not including tax and applicable gas surcharges). Any subsequent sessions will be offered at standard rates. WCP also highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.

HEALTH NOTES:

  • I am spayed and vaccinated.

  • NOTE: dogs from the Baja are not microchipped.

  • NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.

ADOPTION FEE:

  • My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD including tax (5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver.

The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.

WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates.
