My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Beans is a mixed breed dog and we cannot guarantee he is allergy friendly.**

What's not to love about Beans?

Beans is a 4-year-old love muffin who is the sweetest boy around. He is quite the little charmer and will hop right in your lap for some cuddles and love. He is an easy-going guy who seems like he could be a great fit for just about anyone. Beans is fully grown and weighs about 10 lbs.

Beans came to us after he was found as a stray and brought to our local shelter. He was found with his buddy, Frank. Both dogs were in horrible condition when found and were covered in mats and foxtails. We were able to get them groomed and they are feeling so much better with their new haircuts. Frank and Beans would do best in separate adoptive homes as Frank loves Beans more than Beans loves Frank.

Beans is the more mellow of the two dogs and is happy to chill next to you while you work from home or relax from a long day at work. He enjoys his walks and is the best neighborhood stroll partner. He loves to cuddle and is happiest when he can be snuggled up with someone in his foster home. Beans seems like he has been in a home before, but doesn't seem like he has had any training up until now, so his new family should be prepared to work with him on learning his basic manners.

Beans has done well with other small dogs but also wouldn't mind being your spoiled-only pup. We haven't seen him around cats, but we think he would do well with dog-savvy cats with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Beans currently lives in a foster home with kids and could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids 5 years or older.

Beans has been doing well with his housetraining, but he should be supervised when first adopted until he has adjusted to a new environment and routine. Beans have been doing well being crated at night and when alone.

Due to his fur type, Beans requires frequent grooming. His new family should be prepared to pay for professional grooming or be willing to learn to ensure his coat is properly maintained.

Beans is such a fabulous little dog and he is oh-so ready for his fur-ever home. If you think that might be with you, submit an adoption application today!

Beans's adoption fee is $350.

The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes.

Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption.
