That's right, I'm Cookie. Just like my namesake, I'm sweet, baked to perfection, and a crowdpleaser!
I came to ARNO when I was still just a tiny crumb. I entered ARNO 6/11/24, making me their now longest cat resident! I've grown up surrounded by people, so I recently had the chance to go into foster and see what home life is life. And dough my goodness– you butter believe I'm doing great!
My sweetest temptation is climbing to new heights and scouring the world below. My foster home has a 'Cat Wall Shelf' system, and I figured it out in no time! (See video)
When I'm not taking a snooze 7 feet up in the air, I'm probably hopping in and out of cardboard boxes, sniffing out new corners to explore, chasing toys, sneaking through crinkly-tunnels, or slurping down wet food.
My foster home also has another kitty in it, and our evening routine is to zip back and forth in the hallway to burn off my sugar rush. You batter believe I'd make a great addition to a multi-cat home!
I find excitement in all sorts of activities, so you doughn't have to worry about me when you're out of the home.
So if you're ready for me to sprinkle you with love, you're in for a real treat!"

Dogs:
Puppies under 1 year – $300-$350 Adult dogs (1 – 7 years) – $250 Seniors (8 years and older) – $200 Bulldogs, Standard Poodles and Dachshunds $350
Cats:
Adults (1 year and older) – 1 for $125 / 2 for $200 Kittens (under 1 year) – 1 for $175 / 2 for $250
For all animals that have not been spayed or neutered a $100 deposit will be required in addition to the adoption fee. The deposit is refundable upon completion of the spay / neuter surgery.

We set up a meet and greet once there is an approved application.

Take the Pet Home
When the pet goes home you would sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.

If you are interested in fostering or adopting a pet, we require:
1. A completed adoption application that will be reviewed, along with references from your current and past veterinarian.
2. A home visit/yard check is scheduled with you
3. Once the app. is approved, there is a final review to make sure the pet you are choosing is right for you, your family, and/or your lifestyle.
4. You meet your approved pet(s)
5. Adopters sign a contract stating that the animal will be kept healthy through regular visits to your veterinarian, continue on heartworm & flea medication for the rest of the pet's life, and that if you ever have to surrender the pet they will only be returned to ARNO or their agent.
6. Contract also states that if you fail to comply with any or all of the contract ARNO has the right to take possession of the pet.

Animal Rescue New Orleans (ARNO) is an organization created for and dedicated to the rescue and aid of abandoned and homeless animals in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. ARNO's response includes, but is not limited to, immediate medical needs, as well as rescue of those animals who have been neglected, abused and deprived of loving care. ARNO promotes the foster, adoption, and reunion of pets with their original caretakers, as well as spaying/neutering of all companion animals.
