Hi! My name is Starfish and I am from Kentucky.
From his foster: Starfish (I call him Finn) is so sweet. He just wants to be with his humans and melts under petting and neck scratches. House trained, eats and drinks neatly even brings me his empty bowl; takes treats gently; loves to sit in the yard and watch the birds, squirrels and let the bunnies know they are not welcome in the garden. Had his nails trimmed, sat like a champ! No barks or whining. Loves to walk, good on the leash. Had dinner on a resteraunt patio, 2nd day here, and he was mellow, but interested in all the action around him. Hasnt shown any aggression, to dogs or humans-just alot of tail wagging. (Dont know about cats).
I don't know his backstory, but he won't jump into the car and won't go up the stairs. I've tried to lure him into both situations, ended up picking him up. He does get excited and jump-up on humans, so anyone under teenager size may not be a good fit, to start anyway. Hes very smart, but confused about life in a normal situation. Enthralled with whats on TV. He will be a great addition to your forever home!!
Update: after 6 days Finn has bell-trained, learned to do the steps, mastered sit and down (still working on off). He is really smart, thrives on hugs and kisses. He eats slowly and is not food aggressive. He rides well in the car, but won't jump in (will jump out, tho). He will go in the kennel, but whines when inside. His energy may mean he needs to be in a house with older children so he doesn't knock them down? That said, when he settles down, he is a sweet boy. He has been good with every dog he has met and prob would thrive in a home with another dog to play with... He will be a great addition to anyone with the time to walk him and burn off his energy. He is a huge snuggler, so I hope you have a large couch!
I need a foster or adopter!

More about this rescue
The Bond Between is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that focuses on the bond between humans and animals. We were founded in 2009 as Secondhand Hounds. Since then, we have rescued over 29,000 dogs and cats with the help of thousands of fosters, volunteers, and supporters in our community. Our organization has grown from a rescue to a first-in-its-class animal wellbeing organization... now The Bond Between! We continue to provide safe shelter, proper veterinary care, and daily necessities for animals while working hard to help them build a bond with humans. We also focus on supporting the bonds that already exist between people and pets with our pet food shelf, respite foster care program, and focus on social services.
We wake up every morning saying YES to connecting people and animals, caring for them, and helping them fill each other’s hearts.
You can help support us today by donating, fostering, volunteering, or sharing The Bond Between.
