Sabrina is a beautiful young panther girl. She was abandoned in a small apartment and living in a bad situation with another cat. She was going to be left, because the rescue didn't have room for both. She was terrified so Feline Fix stepped up to take her temporarily. Once she was spayed, she was placed with a Heart of America Humane Society foster. She is good with other cats and so sweet and friendly. She has blossomed into a confident cat. She is an avid bird watcher, so a window with a bird feeder is a must. She is cuddly and doesn't mind being held. She is gaining more confidence everyday. She is learning to play and loves to be around people. Sometimes she gets a little nervous with new introductions, but warms up pretty quickly. The Heart of America Humane Society is an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit organization helping to place shelter and foster animals into permanent homes in and around the greater Kansas City metro area.
Our goal is to save and improve the lives of Kansas City's homeless companion animals by promoting responsible pet ownership. The Heart of America Humane Society (HAHS) partners with the Lee's Summit Animal Shelter (Lee's Summit MO) and KCK Animal Services (Kansas City KS) to increase pet adoptions into responsible, permanent homes.

Our organization does not have a permanent facility or paid staff, so many of our adoptions take place at PetSmart stores and occasionally through other event venues. Some events raise awareness and bring in donations for our animal support efforts, while others help acknowledge and show appreciation for our own volunteers (who perform all duties outside of their regular jobs).
