0719365 - Meet Cheese (rescue name Rue), the 5-6 year-old German Shepherd with a heart full of love and a zest for adventure! We think he might be a purebred German Shepherd, and while we can't say for sure, what we do know is that he’s pure joy! Typical of the GSD breed, Cheese is a high-energy boy who thrives on long walks and hikes. He’s always up for exploring the great outdoors and would be happiest in a home with a yard where he can run and play. He is great with other dogs and would love a playful pup sibling to hang with.

Cheese is house-trained, knows all basic commands, and is great on leash. He can be a bit reactive when he wants to say hi to other dogs on leash, which is very manageable with training. We’re not sure how he feels about cats since he’s never been around them. Cheese would do best in a home without small children and gets along wonderfully with older kids. More about this rescue

Sloppy Kisses Animal Rescue is a volunteer-based organization that was founded in 2018 by a group of animal advocates in Colorado. It was formed to rescue as many stray and homeless animals as possible by partnering with shelters in areas that are inundated with stray and relinquished animals. Sloppy Kisses Animal Rescue works to transport the animals to Colorado, fosters them in temporary homes, provides for their medical needs, brings them up to date on vaccinations, spay/neuters them if they aren’t already, and adopts them to permanent homes. This is accomplished through working with a network of volunteers, foster caregivers, local veterinarians, animal trainers, and donations!

We also work with our local community to provide assistance with re-homing pets and providing resources such as behavioral and medial to people who are considering surrendering their pet in an effort to keep pets in their homes and out of the shelter system.
