My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Opal, the adorable 2-year-old female pit mix with a stunning white coat! Weighing 45 pounds, Opal is a sweet and playful pup with a heart of gold. Opal is deaf, but that doesn't stop her from enjoying life to the fullest. Despite her hearing impairment, she's said to be good with dogs and has a sweet demeanor that shines through in her interactions with others. While Opal prefers not to be around cats, her interactions with kids are uncertain. However, her playful nature and cuddly disposition suggest she may be a wonderful companion for families with older children. Opal loves to play and cuddle, making her the perfect cuddle bug for anyone looking for a loyal and affectionate companion. If you're ready to open your heart and home to Opal, apply to adopt her today at ITVrescue.org and give her the loving forever home she deserves!

All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated if necessary.

More about this shelter

It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.
