My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

I like that old time rock and roll… the kind of Pyr Puppy who just soothes my soul! Oops, those aren’t the words, but we have a litter of 9 fluffy Pyr pups who will rock your world! Who is your favorite Rock Star-we have them all- Bowie, Ozzy, Mick, Axl, Ringo (5 boys) and Janis, Tina, Stevie, & Aretha (4 girls). Bowie is a friendly, adorable little boy who is always there to greet his foster mom morning, noon and night; always ready to follow you around the yard to help. Bowie is a confident boy who enjoys playing with his siblings and his mama, who is teaching him dog manners! They are being raised in a home with kitties and other dogs where they were born on April 10 to mama Cruella after she and their daddy Courage were surrendered to rescue. Bowie is outgoing and simply does not know a stranger! He and his siblings spend their days romping in the yard, napping, playing some more, followed by more naps and lovin’ by his people! Bowie gets along with everyone and especially loves it when his foster mom’s niece comes to visit! Bowie and his siblings are learning housebreaking, and all kinds of great things to prepare for their forever families. He will need a home with a big canine sibling and a secure fenced yard to patrol. Bowie would love an active family who is up for an adventure, has plenty of love and attention to give him and is ready to raise the pyrfect little boy—soon to be BIG! Did we mention he also likes to talk to his person-especially when meals are being fixed! Apply today to see if Bowie will be the perfect singer to complete your band!

NYS Registered Rescue # RR102

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.

If you can't foster or adopt at this time, please consider helping our Neediest Cases or making a tax-exempt donation by visiting our Donate page.
