My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ESTIMATED DOB: 2011
WEIGHT: 14lbs
KIDS: Older
DOGS: Yes
CATS: Yes

HISTORY:
Bailey came to us from an underserved area in Louisiana.

ABOUT:
It seems that no one ever explained stranger-danger to Bailey as she loves everyone she meets from the minute she meets them! Our vet’s offices have even complimented her amazing temperament. Bailey is a loving, friendly, sweet, tolerant girl. She loves to lounge around next to you and count down the minutes until the next meal time. As a senior girl, she spends most of the daytime rotating between her favorite napping spots. Every once in a while she gets the senior dog version of zoomies and does some paw taps and short sprints.

Bailey’s foster said she is housetrained, and is confined to one room of the house when no one is home without any troubles. She is crated at night, but she does whine when the sun starts to come up. We don’t expect that she requires crating.

Bailey has very severe dry eye. She requires over-the-counter eye ointments multiple times a day. Her home should have a reasonably predictable schedule to be able to provide these for her. She is a very tolerant dog and willingly allows the eye drops to be applied. Her foster said she even seems a bit excited about them now. Bailey does not have much vision, so she likes to use her voice to alert you to any goings on: doorbells, knocking, car horns, so she would not be an ideal dog for an apartment where noise travels through the walls.

Bailey is super friendly with everyone she meets, but because she is a small senior dog we think older children would be best for her. Bailey is being fostered with a cat and does great. She only gives a quick sniff and then moves on. Bailey is being fostered with other dogs, and she has done great with every dog she has met.

Bailey is a very sweet, gentle girl who makes very few demands of her foster home. She would love to find a forever home where she can enjoy naps and companionship with her adopter.
