Personality: Pepper is so incredibly sweet and calm. He has some fun puppy energy, but also loves to relax and take naps throughout the day. He gets a little sad when he is left alone, but calms down quickly.

Education: Pepper goes to the bathroom when taken outside and will use puppy pads if not taken out often enough. He is crate trained and working on leash training! Will need puppy lessons.

Favorite Activities: Playing with his toys, running around the yard, lounging in the sun, playing with other dogs, and giving/receiving kisses.

Looking for: Pepper has such a calm temperament while still being playful and active! Pepper does really well with kids and would enjoy them being around. He would also love to have a doggy sibling to play with! Pepper would be the perfect addition to any family.

We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane.
Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational.
All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times.
All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise.
Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000.
Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc.

Overview
The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue devoted to saving the lives of dogs facing euthanasia at high kill animal shelters and off the streets of Mexico. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home locally.

We are dedicated to animal advocacy, and educating dog owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We are a foster based rescue, and rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of the amazing people who make donations toward the rescue and care of the dogs we save.
