My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We are delighted to announce that sweet lady Kisses is ready for adoption! This is big, happy news for this girl and we couldn't be happier for her! Her fate was nearly sealed before she was discovered in the Houston pound with a grapefruit sized mass hanging from her chest. She didn't deserve to be euthanized; no dog does. We rescued her out of the pound and brought her to our vet who gave us encouraging news that the mass could be surgically removed. We couldn't wait for her to be more comfortable and the even better news was that the mass was totally benign - it was just a fatty tumor. So here sweet lady Kisses is all healed up and ready for her grand entrance into her permanent home where she will be loved and cherished forever. She is so sweet and grateful and has been right from the get-go. She's observant, loyal and affectionate. She's done great with the other dogs we've introduced her to but no cat's please. We'd love a home for Kisses that can take her on daily walks and show her how beautiful and fun the world can be and just completely shower her with love and attention. At the end of the day's festivities, she's sure to curl up beside you and just be the best lounge buddy you could ask for. Kisses is estimated to have been born early 2020, she weighs 87 lbs, is spayed and up to date with vaccinations. If interested, please email adoptions@smilingdogfarms.org for an application.

Please note we are always in need of foster homes for our dogs. If interested in making a difference in a dog's life we would love to share with you what it means to be a foster parent.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We are dedicated to ensuring that our dogs go to a "forever" loving, nurturing home. As a result, our process is stringent, requiring an application, home visit, vet and reference checks and an adoption contract. We want the adoption to be a match made in heaven for both the new adoptive parents and the adopted dog.

Go meet their pets

We provide adoption opportunities for those living in the Northeast who are willing to do long distance adoptions. Many of our dogs live in Wharton, Texas but we have very safe, reliable transport to the Northeast.

More about this rescue

Smiling Dog Farms is a 501(c) non-profit animal rescue. We strive to restore hope to the forgotten, neglected and rejected unwanted dogs and puppies rescued from the streets and local kill-shelters. Each dog that enters our rescue receives their full round of vaccinations, gets spayed or neutered, micro-chipped and placed on flea and tick and heartworm prevention. Many of our dogs live in Wharton Texas, but we have very safe, reliable transport to the Northeast.
