My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Personality & Behavior:
-Big teddy bear who loves giving and receiving hugs
-Enjoys playing with stuffed animals, especially in the backyard
-Loves taking walks and would benefit from an experienced walker due to his size and strength
-Food-motivated, making him eager to learn and train
-Working on perfecting his basic commands
-Occasionally jumps on people when excited, so a home with older kids is recommended
-Good with other dogs, but a meet and greet is always recommended for compatibility

Ideal Home:
-Requires a house with a fenced-in backyard for play and exercise
-Would do best with a family experienced with large dogs and who can guide him with gentle training

More about this shelter

The Colony Animal Services strives to protect andTCAS LOGO-UPDATED nurture The City of The Colony’s lost, homeless, abused, injured, and sick pets. We seek to provide animals the opportunity to be reclaimed, adopted, rehabilitated, or rescued. It is the mission for the Animal Service Officers and volunteers to pursue a positive synergy and to serve the citizens and pets of The Colony.

Animal Services is committed to saving each and every animal that comes into our care. Over the last few years, we have improved our live release rate to 97%. We hold our standards high at keeping this percentage, and in doing so, we ask our rescue partners and citizens to help us pursue finding our animals forever homes.

Every year, we get over a hundred injured and sick animals that need our help. In order for us to help them, we use our donated medical fund to give them the proper care and treatment they need. The only way for us to provide this needed medical care is through our generous financial donors. Every penny donated is sent to our medical fund. Please help us continue this much needed medical care for our animals by donating. Even if you cannot donate, it is a huge help to share posts on social media.
