My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Tony. He is a 6 year old male, neutered who weighs 65 pounds. He is very loving. Wants to be rubbed and cuddle, but also gives you space when you need it. He is able to get along with other dogs, but he hasn’t been around them in a while so this will take a little bit of time. He is not fond of cats, but has been desensitized to the screen door. He is All people. He has never met a stranger! And loves children of all ages. He is gentle with them as well. if you’re looking for a dog that will make you feel loved and who already comes with a great deal of training and knows a great deal of commands fully trained. If we are adopting out a dog who has been trained the adopter must agree to one training session the day they adopt the dog (coming home). If we decide additional training sessions will be needed we will advise the adopter prior to adoption.

More about this rescue

We are a veteran-run dog rescue based in San Diego, California. Our goal is to change the rescue world. We adopt our dogs to any loving and qualified homes, but we also provide ESAs for military veterans. With The Heroic Tail’s model, we are not only able to rescue dogs from high-kill shelters who happen to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, but we are also able to help the dogs deemed “unadoptable” and give them a better chance at a happy and healthy life!
