Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sweet and Special....That's Our Buddy!
Buddy is a 2 year old, 40lb, male Bernedoodle/Schnoodle mix that has a very sad story to his young life. His owner dumped him at the Carson shelter in the summer of 2023 where he was then adopted by a woman who then only kept him for maybe a month before dumping him at the Santa Monica Shelter in October of 2023. In February, after being at the shelter for close to six months with no real interest, the shelter contacted us to see if we could help. When we heard his incredibly sad story, we knew we could not let him stay there at the shelter any longer. This poor dog had been through so much already. We pulled him out and he has been with our trainer who also does boarding. Due to his past and what he has been through, our trainer agrees with us that he needs a very specific home. We are looking for a single owner or a couple that lead a very calm and mellow life with not a lot of coming/going of people. He takes a minute to warm up to someone new and a chaotic home that does a lot of entertaining would not work for him and could cause a lot of stress. He LOVES people once he feels safe and comfortable. He definitely needs a safe and secure yard to run and play in. Owners that are home most of the day would be ideal for this sweet boy that just craves love and attention. He has great food manners with people and does not beg or bother. He loves to spoon in bed and is the type of dog that needs to be allowed on the furniture/bed with you. Buddy is an excellent watch dog and has received the most excellent one on one training. He is such a love bug despite all he has been through in his young life and we want to find him the stability of an amazing forever home that will love him as much as we do!
Buddy is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.
We only adopt in the Greater Los Angeles Areas as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required.
