Melon is FULL of fun! He usually starts off with a zoomie or two. He can be so silly when his playful side is out, but he’ll also stay calmly by your side for as long as you’ll pet him. He loves to be loved on so much and wants to make all the friends. He has a medium energy level – just a little exercise and he’s ready to relax! He loves being around people, but he’s also happy to keep his own company. Melon is pretty good on a leash and he takes his treats gently from your hand, but he doesn’t seem to know any tricks yet. He’s eager to please though, so with a little practice he’d probably pick up tricks quickly.

Our regular adoption fee is $100 payable by money order or credit card. The fee covers basic vaccinations, Rabies vaccination, microchip, heart worm testing for dogs, and the spay/neuter surgery.
You will be required to sign to an adoption contract and other paperwork relating to the adoption of your new family member.

Our kennel hours are Monday-Friday 10 am to 4 pm and Wednesday also from 5 pm to 7 pm. We are open Saturday from 11 am to 3 pm and closed on Sunday.

We are an open admission, municipal shelter serving the unincorporated area of Fort Bend County, TX.
We are the county's rabies control authority as well as being their animal shelter. On average, we take in approximately 4,000-5,000 pets per year.
The staff at FBCAS is small but each and every one of us is dedicated to making the stay of the pets in our care as comfortable as possible. Our hearts are in this and with every pet that crosses our threshold.
We are part of the amazing Fort Bend County community and we are always striving to work with our community people and partners to make our shelter the best it can be.
We can always use new volunteers to help us keep our pets happy and healthy while they wait for their forever home.
