"Hello my name is Bear I am a wonderful fluffy German Shepherd
Although I don't have an official birth certificate, the vet thinks I was born approximately March 19, 2023.

I do have a medical condition called mega esophagus. I have to eat my food /water sitting upright in order for it to reach my stomach. It might sound scary but it’s really pretty easy once you get the routine down.

I’m affectionate, talkative and really playful. I love other dogs, don’t mind cats and get along with farm animals as well.

I’m not destructive in the home, I don’t chew inappropriate items.
I know how to sit and even shake hands/paws! I enjoy walks and car rides - I have a pretty calm laid back personality.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require an adoption application to be filled out which includes personal references. An in-Home check by a Mikey's Chance volunteer is also performed prior to adoption. Our dogs come to the adopter "ready-to-go" with current Vet health checks, all shots and vaccinations current and the animal spayed or neutered, as well as micro-chipped.

Our adoption process can take 2-4 weeks to process as we are run completely by volunteers, all of whom work full time jobs.

We depend on a network of volunteers and fosters for the care of our dogs. The dogs are fostered primarily in Tri-Cities, WA. We often have Meet 7 Greet events at Petsmart and Paws Natural Pet Emporium LLC both in Kennewick.

More about this rescue

"Mikey's Chance" is a dog rescue organization organized under Washington State articles of Incorporation as a Non-profit Charity. We focus mainly on saving dogs that are at risk or on “Death Row” in shelters in our area, and placing them to great families. We work with individual adopters, private rescuers, and rescue organizations that share our values. All our dogs are up to date on shots, sterilized, and microchipped prior to adoption, and they are all carefully evaluated to ensure the best possible match with adopters.
