My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Dante!!!

Dante is believed to be a Xoloitzcuintli or Xolo mix and is around 10 months old. Hairless dogs are a rarity in rescue, and as soon as we learned he'd been sitting in a shelter for over a week we knew we had to get him out. Dante landed in our care today and he is a HOOT! He is just the happiest, sweetest, most playful puppy. So far he's proven to be great with other dogs and fine with kids. He is bouncy and fairly clumsy and would probably do better around older kids than younger kids. He can be a little timid with strangers, especially men, but he warms up quickly.

We will be spending some time getting to know Dante better as well as getting him to our vet before he will be ready to adopt but we are happy to review applications now. Hairless dogs are unique and their care is very different from other dogs, so we are requiring experience with these breeds for Dante's adopters. He is fostered in Parrish, Florida. If you are interested in adding Dante to your family, please complete an adoption application at the link below or email us at info@love4pawsfl.org to chat!

More about this rescue

We are a non-breed specific dog rescue group, although we do tend to take in mostly large and extra-large breeds, and especially those in the hunting / sporting groups.

Love for Paws exists to protect and advocate for dogs in our community through responsible adoption, the donation of supplies and veterinary care to those in need, by assisting in the effort to limit the overpopulation of these animals and by promoting kindness and healthy opportunity for life.
