Wink is an energetic and fun-loving puppy who's been thriving in his foster home after being found as a stray in Memphis, TN. Weighing around 40 lbs and heartworm negative, Wink is a picture of health and happiness. He’s house-trained and loves bedtime, eagerly running into his kennel for a treat and sleeping through the night without a peep.
With his long, lean frame, striking grey and light brown brindle fur, and captivating light grey eyes, Wink is as handsome as they come. His floppy ears add to his charm, making him irresistible to everyone he meets.
Wink would thrive in a home with active adults and older kids who can keep up with his playful spirit and help him continue his training. He loves a good game of chase, tug-of-war, and keep-away with his foster brother—and he’s fast! This athletic and strong pup can play a bit rough, so a home with children over 8 would be best
Ideally, Wink would love a doggy friend of similar size to play with and learn from. While he adores toys of all kinds, his curious nature means he sometimes finds other things to play with, so it’s best he doesn’t have free range of the house just yet!
Wink does have a loud bark and can sometimes be fearful in new/public places, so he needs a patient owner willing to continue socializing him and helping him feel comfortable in new environments. With his loyal heart, Wink adores his people and his foster siblings, and he’s sure to make a wonderful companion in his forever home.
Are you ready to give Wink the loving, active home he deserves? He can’t wait to meet you!

More about this rescue
PAWS is comprised of a small group of volunteers from New England and Tennessee trying to reduce the euthanization rate (previously 90%) at the Tipton County Animal Control shelter in Brighton, Tennessee. This shelter is forced to euthanize thousands of animals each year due to irresponsible pet owners that do not spay/ neuter their dogs in the area. Millions of dogs in America are euthanized each year due to lack of space and lack of funding to try and find them better homes.
Our mission is to save as many animals as possible, removing them from the shelter, having their veterinary needs met prior to traveling and then finding them loving homes throughout New England. We do this only with the assistance of many people volunteering their time by going to the shelter, transporting the dogs to the vet, fostering dogs who need special care, and arranging for their new and happy homes in this area. Most importantly, we cannot do any of this without those people willing to open their homes and hearts to these lovely creatures.
