My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Here's a new update from Georgetta's foster parent:

"If you want to meet a super playful, friendly, and lovable dog who enjoys playing with all dogs, meet the awesome Georgetta!

"Georgetta is so much fun when we go to the dog park. She gets along with every dog she meets, no matter their size. She loves to chase, run with other dogs, and enjoys splashing around in the lake. If a dog barks at her, she doesn't bark back and simply looks for a friendlier playmate.

"She loves to play fetch with any ball, including soccer balls. She also adores jumping into lawn sprinklers and being sprayed with water. She stays close by in my yard and recently "helped" me cut the lawn! Georgetta walks well on her leash, although she may pull if she spots a squirrel or catches an interesting scent. On hikes, she's perfect-she may explore but always comes back to me.

"If you're a fan of dog hugs, she's your girl. Georgetta leans into me whenever I sit down. Outside, she loves belly rubs, especially after a perfect fetch.

"She has completed her potty training and hasn't had an accident in over 10 days. Sometimes, she just needs a quick break outside to relieve herself. She's also a pro at staying in her crate for up to 7 hours, often running to it to enjoy her treats, toys, and rest time.

"Georgetta likes to start her day early. She sleeps at the foot of my bed and wakes me up at 6:30 am to get the day going.

"She's been fantastic on public patios-friendly but a little shy when meeting new people, though her tail never stops wagging. She gets along with any dog she meets and recently had a friendly 20-minute wrestling match with a new dog friend. She's also a perfect passenger in the car, staying in the back seat until I hold her leash before jumping out.

"We just got DNA test results for Georgetta, and she's a perfect mix of Staffordshire Terrier (35%), Pit Bull Terrier (34%), Chow (8%), Weimaraner (4%), and Boxer (4%).

"Georgetta would love to show you just how playful and lovable she is!"

Check out this update from Georgetta's foster:
"I have had Georgetta for 2 weeks and she has been a joy to foster. She is playful, affectionate, friendly and well behaved.

She loves to play fetch with a tennis ball and is very good at bringing the ball back and dropping it. She will do zoomies in my yard and shows no desire to run away She runs to me when I call her name. She loves to roll on her back to get maximum belly rubs even with the tennis ball in her mouth.

She will only play with her dog toys inside and enjoys plush and chew toys. She loves to give me dog hugs especially when I sit down to get ready to take her outside.

She prefers to sleep on the floor next to my bed. In the mornings she wakes me up at 7 am so we can go on her morning walk. She rarely pulls on her leash, except if she sees a squirrel or finds a smell she wants to follow. She walks well past people. She has been friendly and calm to all people who have met and petted her.

This weekend she was able to meet several dogs and all meetings were perfect. Her tail wags even when multiple dogs sniff her at once. Sometimes she will lay down in front of dogs. Other times she will initiate play.

She jumps right into the back seat of my car and rides perfectly in the back seat. She will wait for me to hold her leash before jumping out of the car. She goes easily into her crate when I leave the house. She has stayed perfectly in her crate for up to 7 hours.

She behaves excellent on public patios and is friendly to all people who have asked to pet her. Georgetta has learned how to sit and come when I call her.

Georgetta would be an excellent member of any family who shows her love and affection and who would enjoy playing fetch with her favorite tennis ball."

Here's what a volunteer said about Georgetta:

"Georgetta is such a fun, playful, and affectionate girl. She walked so well on her leash to and from the yard and never pulled. She was calm when she saw other dogs, even when they barked at her.

"In the yard, she bounded to play with the tennis balls. She loved to chase them and then bat them around. When other dogs passed by, she ran along the fence with her tail wagging and never barked.

"She loved to stand next to me and be petted and get her side rubbed. Her tail wagged so much her body shook. She gave me several stand-up hugs but was never mouthy. She did her business when she was in the yard, so she may be potty trained.

"Georgetta is such a playful, friendly girl who is so fun to spend time with."

Here's a new update about Georgetta from the same volunteer:

"Georgetta got to meet a family today, and she was so friendly with both adults and kids. Her tail wagged as she greeted new people. She enjoyed running next to everyone and playing with toys. I think Georgetta remembered me since she gave me several stand-up hugs.

"Although she appears active in her kennel, she walks really well on her leash and didn't pull. When the family left, Georgetta placed her head on my lap to be petted. Georgetta wasn't adopted today, but she so wants to find her new family soon."
