My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Harvard the big baby! Look at those puppy dog eyes, he is a little heart thief as adorable as he is, and that's without mentioning his AMAZING personality! Harvy prefers to spend his days lounging around, being a lazy dude, but he definitely never says no to some zoomies either! Harvy is a little shy around strangers so far, but another dog being present ALWAYS opens him up, as they bound around together. He's even working on his simple commands, like sit, down, and a recall; he has taken strides so far, we can only imagine how incredible he will be with his very own family! He LOVES chasing after toys, and quickly tearing off in the opposite direction, eager to be followed. He is beyond sweet, and at about 5 months old, and 20 pounds, he's a hambone. One would say that he is VERY treat-motivated, and that is an absolute plus. We can't get enough of Harvy and all of his snuggles, face kisses, and how he awkwardly swats with his paws when playing. We know he will do great in just about any loving home.

My adoption fee is only $310! This fee covers all of my vaccines, microchip, nex/heartguard, heartworm test, AND my spay/neuter!

Think I might be the perfect fit for your home? You can apply for me here https://animalwelfarefriends.org/adopt/application/ OR you can apply in person when you come visit me any day during business hours! You can even adopt me that same day once approved!!

Please Note: All adoptions are on a first-come first served basis with approved adoption applicants. We do not hold animals unless the adoption is out-of-state, and fees apply. The animal's welfare is our first and only priority, in doing so, they are moved from the shelter into their respective homes as quickly, & humanely as possible to remove the risk of undergoing extreme stress, immune system compromission, & behavioral concerns.

More about this shelter

We are a non-profit organization out of Monticello, IA specializing in the care for dogs and cats that need us. Our care does not stay local, as we take transports from all over the United States, and adopt all over as well!

Our mission's primary focus is to help reduce the homeless pet population by finding homes for spayed/neutered pets, and helping educate WHY this process is so important, and the proper way to care for pets!
