My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET DIERKS!
`Ain`t no tellin` where the wind might blow
Free and easy down the road he goes
Livin` life like a Sunday stroll
Free and easy down the road he goes.`
That`s our Dierks beautifully described by country singer Derks Bentley.
We sure hope the wind blows this happy go lucky boy into his forever home!
Dierks came in as a stray and we estimate him to be roughly 8-10 months old. He is a happy go lucky pup that is full of life and fun. He is affectionate, does well on a leash, gets along well with the office kitty, and does well with other dogs. To be truthful Deirks came in with a harness on and we are a little surprised that his owners have not been looking for him! Dierks is a mixed breed and weighs roughly 50 pounds. Dierks adoption fee is $52.00! This includes a license, microchip, vaccination, leash, collar and if you`re a Holmes County resident it includes a spay/neuter voucher.

More about this shelter

We are a county operated facility and agency. We receive our funding through dog license sales. We are responsible for picking up strays in our county. Many of these strays later go up for adoption and become our responsibility to rehome. We also take owner surrrenders and attempt to rehome them.
