My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Rupert, a resilient and affectionate 6-year-old Corgi mix looking for his forever home. Rupert's journey hasn't been easy; when he arrived at animal control, he was a mess, missing hair, and suffering from infected ears and an eye that ultimately had to be removed. However, with dedicated care, Rupert's fur has grown back beautifully, his ear infections have cleared, and he's adjusted well to life with one eye.

Rupert's heart belongs to humans. He adores being petted and will nuzzle your hand for attention. He can get a bit tense and even growl when other pets try to share in the attention, so a home without other animals or with patient and understanding pets would be best. Rupert's love for people makes him less suitable for households with young children, as he can be a bit snappy when startled. Despite his past, he's made great progress and now mostly just gets tense when unsure, looking to his humans for reassurance. Rupert is good with cats and coexists peacefully with them, making him a versatile addition to a pet-loving home.

House training is improving steadily since his surgery, and he's already crate trained and comfortable with car rides. Rupert isn't very interested in toys, but occasionally carries around a Nylabone. He loves sleeping in soft spots, especially chairs, and has learned to enjoy these simple pleasures without fear of being reprimanded. His laid-back demeanor makes him an easy companion, though he does get anxious at the vet's office.

Rupert knows the basic command "Sit" and has the cutest tiny wolf howl when he's left alone or when he's joining in with other dogs. He's a food lover who believes every hand has a treat, making him easy to motivate. Rupert thrives with patient, loving care, and just wants to be near his human, soaking up all the affection he can get.

If you're looking for a loyal, sweet, and resilient companion who will adore you unconditionally, Rupert is the perfect match. Give this special boy a chance to be your devoted friend, and you'll be rewarded with endless love and loyalty..
