My name is Maverick. I am a smart and loyal friend, I want to be by your side, meaning sidekick, adoring K9, and constant companion. I do a good job of staying calm in various situations as long as I know you have my back. I love food and am very willing to work for treats.
Special Handler, Savvy German Shepherd Dog Owner
Maverick has been given a raw deal. His owner decided that vacations and self were more important than the required commitment to her pet, and she dumped this gorgeous boy off at an animal control. By doing this, she committed this sweet boy to death, because when animal controls are full, owner surrenders are euthanized as they come in.
Maverick was saved, a life was spared, and this boy needs a commitment of real responsibility.
Maverick is currently in a boarding kennel and being supported (at reduced rates) by the lady who just could not let his life be taken.
He is a very quiet German Shepherd, though after a few days once he settled in he has entertained us with yodeling when other dogs are being played with.
We want Maverick to be an only dog with hopefully someone who is active and wants a companion who has excellent behaviors and advanced obedience, though a little rusty at this time.
Not a worker, I see more of a snuggler.
Someone please give this boy the love he deserves and he will serve you for life.
