My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Say hello to Kermit! Kermit is an approximately four-and-a-half-year-old Chihuahua mix (heavy on the mix), weighing approximately 22 pounds. Kermit was taken in by HARTT when a volunteer found him tied to a tree outside. Chi Town Rescue works in partnership with HARTT at times, and agreed to take in Kermit to help him find his forever family. Kermit is a sweet guy with a bit of a shy side. He takes just a bit to warm up, but will soon be hopping in your lap for pets and love. Kermit enjoys the company of the other dogs in his play group and will happily trot around the yard and socialize. He isn't leash trained yet, but would love to work on those skills with his forever family. We don't know anything of Kermit's past and we are still getting to know him in the present, as he has only been with us about one week. One thing we DO know though, is that Kermit's future is going to be wonderful, once he finds his forever home! Kermit's adoption fee includes neuter surgery, vaccinations up to date, Rabies certificate, and microchip. Email us at chitownrescue@gmail.com for more info/meet and greet with Kermit!

More about this rescue

"Chi Town" is short for "Chihuahua Town," which is our nick-name because we found that the majority of animals we were rescuing happened to be Chihuahuas and literally have a little “town” comprised of Chihuahuas! Chihuahuas are one of the most over-bred dogs in Arizona and unfortunately many end up in need of rescue. However, we are not limited to saving just Chihuahas, we do save other breeds dependent on availability of space. Chi Town also specializes in rescuing dogs who require a little extra TLC and are at risk of euthanasia at county shelters. These dogs may not be doing well for a variety of reasons- fear, fear aggression, anxiety, or a medical issue to name a few. These are the dogs that typically have no other outlet and for which time is of the essence . After our dogs are medically cleared and/or their behavioral issues have improved, they are available for adoption.

Please be aware that we do our very best to answer all questions in a timely manner.

We are always seeking to help promote these special Chihuahuas who are too often overlooked in AZ shelters due to the sheer volume of this breed. Please share and like us on Facebook:
