My story

Meet Luna the gentle, loving, kind dog who loves to meet new people, play with her 4 legged friends, and cuddle up with her people.

Luna is learning to walk on the leash and naturally does quite well. She will hop in the car with ease and calmly enjoy the car ride, she enjoys it even more if she can rest her head on your shoulder from the back seat.

Luna is learning that life in a family home is pretty great and she does amazing being left alone as she is calm and non destructive, and she will chose to lay in her crate for a rest if she wants a good nap.

Her fosters favourite quirk is her happy grumble as she greets you with a wagging tail at the door, being part husky luna knows how to use her voice, but she is not one to use it when not necessary. She just enjoys talking to those who enter as a happy greeting and as an ask for a hug and some pets!

One of our volunteers will reach out either by phone or email. Please be sure to check your junk file.

Home Check

Our Home Checks are Virtual on Zoom, FaceTime, Messenger..... followed by reference check as well as a vet reference check.

4.
Meet the Pet

Once your application has been approved and we think the dog you have applied for is a good match we will then set up a meet & greet.

Approve Application

Sign Adoption Contract

Pay Fee

Once the adoption contract and fee have been received the dog can go home with the approved adopter.

Backstreet Paws Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer based organization that helps homeless, abandoned street dogs find their forever homes. We are dedicated to providing the best possible care for these animals until they can be placed into a loving home. Our ultimate goal is to reduce the number of dogs that are euthanized each year in shelters due to lack of adoptions. We believe that every dog deserves a chance at a happy life and we are committed to helping as many dogs as possible.
