My story

Hi there! I'm Chip, a sweet and playful terrier/lab girl, born around May 10th. I’m expected to grow into a medium-sized dog, possibly on the larger side. I am currently looking for a loving forever family who can give me lots of love and attention!

I love running around and playing, especially with stuffed toys and tennis balls. I'm a goofy, curious girl who loves to explore and meet new people and dogs! I get along great with the resident cats and have so much fun playing with the resident pups. I would be thrilled to have a furry playmate to learn from! When I’m not playing and running around, I enjoy eating sweet potato treats and taking cozy naps.

As I'm still learning my puppy manners, I would do best in a home with kids aged 7 and up. If you're looking for a playful, curious, and loving pup to join your family, I'm your girl!

The adoption fee of $350 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed!

*please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding.

Our adoption fees range from $100 - $500 depending on species,age and breed. For dogs/puppies this covers spay/neuter, microchip, dewormers, flea and tick preventative, heartworm test (only over 6 months of age) and all up to date, age appropriate vaccinations. Cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and dewormed. We require an adoption application and a home visit prior to adoption.

We schedule meets with approved adopters only, so you must download our PreAdoption Application from our website at www.starfishanimalrescue.com and follow the instructions to email it to us.

We are not a shelter. We are a group of pet lovers and advocates who are committed to targeted rescue. Starfish Animal Rescue is a licensed rescue that is run by an all volunteer staff.
Once we rescue a dog or cat, it is placed in one of our foster homes until we are able to find it a suitable home. We are happy to set up an appointment to meet our pets once we receive and review your completed application.

We do our best to process applications quickly but please understand that we are a foster based rescue and that our volunteers work jobs; many are full time. Once your application is reviewed, we will put you in contact with the dog's foster family to set up a time to meet the pet of your choice!

Starfish Animal Rescue has been rescuing and transporting cats and dogs from two shelters in Southeast Kentucky. Since Starfish's conception, we have been able to rescue and transport over 10.000 dogs and cats. We are always in need of volunteers, and donations. All of our adoptable pups are in loving foster homes, preparing for their forever home.
