My story

How this pet arrived:
Clyde was brought in by a community member.

Why this pet is the one for you:
This is Clyde! He's a sweet little mouse looking for a home to call his own. Clyde is young and social little guy! Mice should live in groups of 3 or more. To co-house with other female mice - he will need to be neutered. He enjoys exploring and snacking on his pellets and fresh fruit and veggies. You may have seen fun-themed, brightly colored critter homes at the pet store, but WOW those are quite dangerous and really boring for the smart, active muse. Mice need an enclosure of about 20"x40" that can allow for a minimum of 6'-"8" inches of bedding to borrow in. Aquariums, plexiglass and wooden enclosures, and home-made bin enclosure are great! Mice love clutter and climbing! There are creative ways you can enrich your mice enclosure with things you probably have at home! Before adopting Clyde, make sure you have an appropriate enclosure set up in your home and bring a secure carrier to take this little fellow home today!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
