Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Nelson is a 7 year old affectionate, curious, energetic, sweet boy. He loves snuggling under a blanket with or without you present, chasing a ball, and going on short walks in good weather. He is highly food motivated and trainable, knows sit and is working on stay, up (dance), up up (jump up), and recall. He warms up to strangers quickly with a trusted person. He doesn`t bark inside, except to alert when someone is walking up to the door.
He does have fear reactivity, particularly with being handled/lifted without his consent. He has bit with non- broken skin when being picked up by the vet and will react if he thinks a stranger is going to sit on him under a blanket. He is currently in the process of muzzle training and is responding well. He is scared of cars on walks, but is easily redirected and improving with time and trust. He also sometimes has incontinence issues and goes pee inside, but is good about using a pee pad or his blanket.
He would be a good dog for someone with an understanding of dog body language and a willingness to give him time to decompress and trust the person he`s with. He`s been in foster for 2 months and has picked up commands very well and gains confidence every day.
