My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet River! She is a one year old female, purebred brittany looking for her forever home. She is mostly liver/white, with a little orange in some spots, and weighs about 28 pounds. She spent the whole first year of her life in an outdoor kennel.  Now, River is learning what it's like to live inside and go on lots of fun dog adventures!  She was very timid and sick with pancreatitis when she first came into rescue.  She was treated and put on a good quality food and recovered quickly.

Despite her shy demeanor, River's sweetness is evident in her gentle ways.  She's a bundle of joy wrapped in a furry coat of love. But, she's also a typical energetic young brittany! River is looking for a forever home where she can continue to grow, learn and spread happiness. She is housebroken and crate trained.  She will need to continue basic training as she is still very much a puppy. She loves to run around the house and play with toys.  She has recently started playing with the other dogs in her foster home. We don't know how she is with cats.  She does great with kids!   Her outdoor experience has been limited to walking on a leash, which she does well.  She is very observant on her walks and does like to eat grass. She would love a fenced in yard, where she can get out and run and play.  At night, River roams the house and will cuddle.  She does well in a crate when her foster family is gone for short periods.  River needs a consistent routine and doesn't like quick movements.  That will change over time, once she gets more settled and learns confidence.

River is spayed and up to date on vaccinations. She is currently located in Conway SC and available to be transported up to 1400 miles, with the adopter driving the last 100 miles. Her adoption fee is $400.  If interested in adopting River, please submit an adoption application at www.nbran.org and mention her name!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Each adopter must complete an application on our website at www.nbran.org. A volunteer will contact you and work with you to find the perfect fit for your family and the brittany. A homevisit is required, as this is the only way we can be sure the right dog is being placed with you. Once the right brittany has been found, we will help transport him we only ask the adopting family to drive the last leg if it is a long distance adoption.
