Meet Velcro, a 9 month old, male Siberian Husky who was found eating trash on a busy street in south LA. He was dirty, covered in fleas, and had tar stuck to parts of his fur. We think he may have been on the street for a little while. He was weary of people, but hungry enough to be won over with a couple of sausage bites. His amazing rescuer and temp foster was able to get a slip lead on him, and bring him back to their house. We posted about him on next door and via social media, and called the local shelter to see if anyone is missing a husky puppy, waited, and no one has come forward for him. ☹️ NOW WE NEED YOUR HELP FINDING A FOSTER / ADOPTER!
Velcro is currently located in Los Angeles, CA. He is newly neutered, and up to date on all his shots. He doesn’t mind baths and loves to play in the hose water outside! His over all demeanor is sweet. He is a very affectionate puppy who loves attention. He can be high energy at first, but can calm down fairly quickly. Everything is new to him. He loves to play!!! He is great at fetch, and loves a good tug of war with a rope. We even started working on puppy puzzles. He is super smart and so far, easily trainable. He knows “sit” and “down” very well - still working on “stay”. He also learned the “crate” in one afternoon and sleeps in it at night. He seems to really like it, although can get a little vocal if you leave him. Then he eventually calms down with a little reassurance. Velcro doesn’t great in the car, walks well on the leash, and gets along super with other dogs. He’s absolutely perfect!! Velcro is super dog friendly, and is also submissive. He doesn’t have any attitude at all. Good with men, kids I don’t know because we don’t have any. But I can only assume he would be fine. This dog loves everyone. He doesn’t seem to have much interest in cats. He LOVES birds. Very intrigued by them.
Velcro could do very well in a household with other animals. He will need a strong leader to continue with training and basic manners, but like I said he learns quickly. Ultimately, this boy is just looking for his forever companions, whether is one person, or a whole family.
