Meet Atlas, a 3-year-old Alaskan Malamute mix with a gentle giant’s heart! Weighing in at about 91 pounds, this handsome boy keeps his run at the shelter spotless, showcasing his house-trained habits. Atlas enjoys hanging out in the yard, going for walks (he's great on a leash), and playing with toys. He already knows "sit" and "shake," showing off his good manners.
Atlas might be a little shy at first, but he quickly warms up, leaning in for rubs and showing his friendly side. While he hasn't been exposed to children, we believe he'll do best with kids over 10 who are respectful and calm, as quick movements might make him nervous. We haven't tested him with other dogs or cats yet, but we're happy to arrange dog introductions to ensure a good fit.
Described by kennel staff as adaptable and sweet, Atlas enjoys squeaky toys and chewing on bones when he feels calm and safe. He’s a sweet boy who will thrive with someone willing to give him the time he needs to adjust and feel at home. Atlas isn't much of a barker but loves to have conversations with his adorable howls.
If you're looking for a gentle, well-mannered companion with a lot of love to give, Atlas might be the perfect match for you! His minimum adoption fee is $295 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.
He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
