My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet the incredible Una!

Una is a delightful Pitbull mix with striking blue eyes and a contagious smile that will brighten anyone's day. Her short and stocky build is packed with energy, as she walks with a charming pep in her step.

Una's adventurous spirit makes her the perfect companion for exploring new places. She loves to wander and would be thrilled to join you on walks and hikes!

Her friendly nature means she loves to greet people enthusiastically, often giving a quick howl when they leave her, as if to say, "I miss you already, Come back soon!"

While Una settles well on her own, she much prefers being with her humans. She thrives on companionship and would make a loyal and loving addition to your home.

However, Una does not always enjoy the company of other dogs and will let you know if she is uncomfortable in their presence. It is important that Una's human has experience reading canine body language and can understand her ways of communication!

If you're looking for a devoted and energetic friend who will bring joy and adventure into your life, Una is the perfect match. Adopt Una today and start your journey of love and companionship together!

More about this shelter

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
