My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chunk is a spirited 2-year-old who lives for playing ball. Whether it's a soccer ball or a tennis ball, he's always ready to chase and retrieve with infectious energy. Chunk's playful nature makes him a delightful companion for anyone who shares his love for games.

He gets along famously with both female and male dogs, making him an ideal match for a household where he can have a canine playmate to match his energy levels. However, due to his intense chase instinct and penchant for tackling balls, Chunk may not be suitable for a home with cats.

Chunk is familiar with basic commands like "sit" and "wait," although persuading him to drop the ball for you might require a bit of patience-he's quite attached to his toys! His strong food motivation makes him a joy to train and offers great potential for further learning and bonding.

Given Chunk's speed and occasional clumsiness, a home without small children may be best for him. He thrives in an environment where his exuberance can be celebrated without risk of unintentionally overwhelming younger family members.

If you're searching for an active and affectionate companion who lives to play, Chunk could be the perfect addition to your family. With his boundless enthusiasm and love for fun, he promises to bring joy and laughter into your home every day.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:
