Hi, I’m Chester! I was found recently as a stray and dream of finding a new home where I can be happy, play and zone out during my shows.

I’m an easy going boy. I’ve got lots of energy and enjoy playing fetch and with my toys - all those fun doggie things to use up my energy. When I get excited, I do jump a little - the humans said I need training. That said, I love laying on the couch too, especially when the TV or music is on (seriously, it chills me out).

I'm a friendly giant who loves everybody I meet. I do tend to jump when I'm excited but I'm learning my manners. Due to my excitement and size I would do better in a home with older kids that I can't knock over. I LOVE toys and get soooo excited at the prospect that you might be ready to play a game of fetch. When I'm playing I do get a bit vocal but please know it's not aggression it's just how I let everybody know how excited I am. I have amazing leash manners, but do tend to get excited if I see another dog because I want to play, so I will need some redirection. I LOVE to chase squirrels and my foster mom jokes that I might be part hound.

Overall I am a sweet and very gentle giant. I even take treats ever so gently. I am looking for a home that will play fetch with me during the day and at night can cuddle up with me and watch a good movie.

To begin the adoption process, please complete the adoption application online.

Please see our adoptable pets page for a list of the current pets that we have for adoption.

All interested applicants must complete an adoption application for the pet that you are interested in. Applications are considered in the order in which they are received.

One of our volunteers will review the application and contact you via email or phone to ask any questions that we might have. We also reserve the right to perform a home visit for any adoption. During a home visit, a Catering to Cats and Dogs volunteer will come to your house to see where your new pet will live.

If you are not sure which one of our adoptable pets would be right for you, please contact us and we would be happy to advise you as to which pet may be a match, just let us know what you are looking for.

Once your application is approved and a match is found, you will be required to sign an adoption contract and pay the recovery fee
