We’d like to introduce you to Polo! This good-looking pup is full of curiosity and is seeking a loving family to take him on adventures. Polo loves walks and is an explorer at heart. He pulls moderately on leash, but overall walks pretty well. He was fine being handled all over and allowed food to be taken away. When meeting a male Doberman, Polo engaged calmly at first, then mounted the other dog. Polo was very receptive to the other dog correcting this behavior, then was more cautious. Adopt Polo and you’ll have a fun-loving companion to share your life with! Polo would benefit from continued socialization, obedience and leash training. Kids 12 and up recommended

More about this rescue

We are a group of people dedicated to rescuing dogs from crisis situations, some of which include euthanasia by animal shelters, neglect and other forms of abuse, or "free to a good home" ads, which result in dogs being bounced from one home to another, or being acquired by animal brokers ("bunchers") and sold to research laboratories where they are used for testing then discarded ("cruelty industries").

NBCR&P works primarily with 5 herding breeds, and herding breed mixes. On occasion, NBCR&P also rescues and places other breeds. We foster our dogs in a home environment, rather than a kennel, if at all possible. We take pride in our promise that at any time and for any reason in the dog's life, if the need arises, he or she has a safe place with us ("return to rescue" policy).
